Arnold Haack Community Scholarship
The Community Scholarship Committee and Trustees shall meet each year in April to review applications for Arnold E. Haack Scholarships. The Trustee shall award scholarships and announce the names of successful applicants in time for the announcement of the awards of Arnold E. Haack Scholarships at the graduation ceremonies of the Hobson High School.
The Arnie Haack Scholarship Committee shall consider applications and grant scholarships using the criteria set forth in Arnold E. Haack's Will, those criteria being moral soundness, academic ability and need.
The Arnold Haack Community Scholarship Committee and the Trustees shall apply the following guidelines in providing and granting scholarships to applicants:
| 1. Applicants must be graduating seniors or graduates of the Hobson Montana High School. | |
| 2. Applicants must have attended Hobson High School the entire two academic years immediately preceding graduation from high school. | |
| 3. Graduates of the classes of 1997 and after from Hobson High School will be eligible for scholarships. | |
| 4. In order to be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must submit an initial application available on the Hobson School internet site not later than two years after the date of the applicant's graduation from high school except if a scholarship applicant enters military service within two years after graduation from high school, the period of time for applying for a scholarship is extended by the time the applicant spends on active military duty. | |
| 5. Applicants must submit applications to the school counselor of their high school no later than April 15 of the year in which they intend to use the scholarship funds. Applicants must also include a recent transcript of their grades (h.s. or college). | |
| 6. The Haack Scholarship Committee shall consider applications and grant scholarships using the criteria set forth including moral soundness, academic ability, and need. The Scholarship Committee shall not use any other criteria for considering applications and granting scholarships. | |

The Scholarship Committee will consist of five, no less than
4 in case of absenteeism, to select the recipients: a. Sup't. of Hobson School or teacher b. School Board member c. Representative from Hobson Catholic Church d. Mayor of Hobson or Councilman(woman) e. Representative from Hobson Methodist Church |

| 7. The Haack Scholarship Committee and Trustees (First Interstate Bank of Gt Falls) may at their discretion renew scholarships on a yearly basis for up to four (4) years of higher education upon the application for such a scholarship and proof by the applicant that he/she has maintained at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average based on the scale of 4.0, for a C+ average, and completing a normal course load. | |
Checks will be written out for both the student and the educational
institution that he/she is attending. Recipients of Arnold Haack
Scholarships may apply the monies received toward the costs of
higher education incurred in attending public or private universities,
colleges, or technical/vocational schools, on a full-time basis.
Hobson Alumni/Extraganza Scholarship
A scholarship has been established by the Alumni of Hobson High School and the Extravaganza Committee as a tribute to the role the school has played in shaping their lives and in memory of the schoolmates and teachers who shared those days. The Classes of 1930 to l935 first began this Scholarship Fund along with the Tournament Concessions done by community members, the 1938 All-School Reunion, and donations in memory of loved ones.
Graduates of Hobson who wish to further or continue their education beyond high school will be considered. Requirements are as follows:
| 1. Must be a present or past graduate of Hobson High School. | |
| 2. Applicant may choose either a two or four-year college or vocational school. | |
| 3. Applications must be submitted by April 15, 2010, to the school counselor. Applications not postmarked by April 15th will not be considered. | |
| 4. Applications must include the following: | |

a. Cover sheet that includes name, date and signature. Do
not forget to sign the cover sheet. b. Brief narrative description of yourself, your goals, and your need for the scholarship. c. Transcript of high school record or college transcript. The college transcript does not have to be an official transcript. You may send your transcript obtained from your college web site. d. Completion of extra-curricular/service/employment experiences. e. Do not submit in a folder, just stapled together. |

It is the responsibility of the applicant to make sure their completed application has been received by the school. Applications not post marked by April 15th, or missing any items will not be considered. It is advisable to start the application process early to ensure safe arrival of all materials by closing date.
The selection committee will be composed of three alumni/friends of the Hobson School. Criteria considered by the selection committee will include:

| 3. Academic achievement | |
| 4. Participation in the Extravaganza | |
| 5. Service | |
Scholarship monies will be in the form of a check made out to the applicant and the school the applicant will be attending.
The Community Scholarship Committee and the Trustees may, at
their discretion, renew scholarships on a yearly basis for up
to four (4) years of higher education upon the application for
such a scholarship and proof by the applicant that the applicant
has maintained at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average,
on a scale of 4.0, for a C+ average, that the applicant completed
forty-five (45) quarter credits or thirty (30) semester credits
of higher education credit or the equivalent of a normal course
load for each year in attendance at a school of higher education,
and that the applicant has maintained satisfactory attendance
in some course of undergraduate study leading to graduation.
